Pharmacology

Introduction to the basic concepts of pharmacology with emphasis on the principles of pharmacology, medication, calculations, preparation, administration, and storage of medications, and understanding of the actions, side effects, and adverse reactions of different drugs.

Nursing Assistant

Theory and content integrating basic nursing concepts and skills in order to provide safe and competent patient care in a long term care setting. Core components include communication and interpersonal skills, infection control, safety and emergency procedures, promoting patient independence, patient/resident rights, basic nursing skills, personal care skills, mental health and social service needs, care of the cognitively impaired and basic restorative services.

Adv MedSurg and CHN

This course explores theoretical content and clinical practices with a focus on current therapeutic treatment modalities and nursing management for advanced medical/surgical patients, including studies of cancers, burns, shock, leadership, and management, as well as heart, respiratory, neurological, and renal failure. Community health nursing involves topics such as home health care, long-term care, rehabilitative and hospice care, as well as disaster nursing.

Int Adult Med Surgical Nursing

Study of theory in relation to concurrent enrollment in clinical practices and body systems, including hematologic, cardiovascular, respiratory, and immunological. Disorders related to neurological, endocrine, genitourinary, and reproductive systems are also examined, including diagnostic and treatment modalities, and nursing responsibilities. Core nursing concepts include surgical patient care, pain management, and fluid and electrolyte balance.
